Lamera Cup
At least three Belgian teams in a French exclusive series
Battle at the cutting edge, technically identical and beautiful bolides with a ‘belle gueule’ and a cozy, casual atmosphere. You can get a free taste of it during the first Lamera Cup in Zolder. At least three Belgian teams will participate in the endurance races: Genius Water Racing and Fast Kukki Racing, both from Diest, and WRB Racing. A 4-hour moto is scheduled on Saturday and 7 hours of tussling on Sunday.
“We were in Belgium twice before, at Spa-Francorchamps. We do want to build awareness, but that is not our first objective,” said Alexander Bezamat of the organization. “The Lamera Cup has its network of drivers, technicians, team members and a limited audience that follows us. The field of participants is dual with young pilots on the one hand and older pilots who can afford it on the other - they make up the bulk of the participants.”
The main Lamera race of this season is the 24 Hours of Portimão. Under the hood is a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged Ford engine that produces about 330 horsepower. The fiberglass bodywork is indeed stunning, but fringe entertainment for the public is not provided. An event for connoisseurs, then.
