Concours d'Élégance

The origins of the Concours d'élégance, an “elegance competition” go back to the Belle Epoque, when enthusiasts would stroll through the parks of chic cities such as Paris, Berlin, London and Brussels in elegant carriages. For coachbuilders, these excursions were an excellent opportunity to show their most beautiful creations to the public. These excursions evolved into formal beauty contests. Gleaming horses were gradually replaced by roaring engines. The charm of a Concours d'élégance has lost none of its appeal, quite the contrary.
