NO PAIN NO GLORY

Circuit Zolder accueillera le 25 mai 2013 la course la plus musclée de tous les temps. Non, la Formule 1 n'y est pas de retour. Au contraire, cette épreuve bannit tout recours aux cavaleries démontées et ne repose que sur la force physique intrinsèque de chacun (ou de chacune !).

The ‘strongest race of all times’ will take place at Circuit Zolder on 25^th May 2013. No, Formula 1 has not returned. Quite the contrary, this Strongmanrun bans all forms of horsepower and relies solely on pure man (or woman!) power.

WHO WILL FLOOR ARIE VOS?

The Battle of the Lowlands is the amazing brainchild of organiser Hans Vandeven. Dixit Hans “to add some tension and ambiance on the circuit and as such to do something completely different”. This Battle is definitely ‘different’. Because out of the 15 starters only two will actually finish the race. In fact after each lap the last competitor drops out, and is inexorably obliged to park his motorbike off the track.

QUI DAMERA LE PION À ARIE VOS

La Battle of the Lowlands (Bataille des Plats Pays) est le fruit d'une surprenante idée de l'organisateur Hans Vandeven, destinée à "doper l'ambiance, renforcer le suspense sur le circuit et se différencier", assure-t-il. Effectivement, cette bataille est vraiment différente. Car sur les 15 compétiteurs, seuls deux termineront l'épreuve. À chaque tour, le dernier arrivé est irrémédiablement contraint de ranger sa moto sur le bas-côté.

24 HOURS IN THE SADDLE!

The 24 Hours Cycling of Zolder has now reached its fifth edition. The chains have been well oiled, because the number of teams that register annually for this event amounts to 200 – and the total number of participants reaches in excess of 2,000!

Plus près des étoiles

Il ne pleuvra peut-être pas lors du week-end des 22 et 23 juin à Zolder, sinon des étoiles. C'est en effet le week-end du Zolder Super Prix, placé sous le signe des Superstars. Vous pouvez qualifier ce championnat européen Touring Car de DTM italien, mais hyper assaisonné. Le plateau de participation est en effet d'un niveau hallucinant.

UP AGAINST THE STARS

If it rains they will definitely be stars during this Zolder Super Prix. This weekend focuses on the Superstars. One could readily call this European Touring Car Championship the ‘Italian DTM’, but then add to it the extra pili-pili and pepperoni. The field of competitors is extremely spicy.

TEGEN DE STERREN OP

Als het al regent, dan zijn het zeker sterren tijdens deze Zolder Super Prix. Dit weekend staat immers in het teken van de Superstars. Noem dit Europese Touring Car-kampioenschap gerust het ‘DTM van Italië’, maar neem er dan wel de extra pilipili en peperoni bij. Het deelnemersveld is hallucinant heet.

LE DTM SUR DEUX ROUES

Qui se souvient encore des glorieuses pages d'histoire du DTM au Circuit Zolder ? Qui aujourd'hui, suit encore attentivement ce championnat allemand de voitures de tourisme terriblement captivant ? L'adepte sait à quel point les constructeurs automobiles y donnent tout pour damer le pion à leurs rivaux. Eh bien, cet IDM, ou Superbike allemand, en est le frère jumeau sur deux roues. Voilà qui promet du spectacle brûlant !
